Dear IKE:
Newfoundland is too long to write, and since your the guardian of puncuation and spelling, remember, I thought I would use and abbrev.
Now, IKE, in the context of the sentence I wrote I was actually refering to the island, not the people, so I find it hard to imagine a big pile of rocks sticking up out of the Atlantic Ocean would find it offensive to call the "Newfie".
As far as the people go, that live on the island, I would wonder what connotation that Newfie would be offensive? Perhaps you could explain that to dimwits like me in your response, and also your outline of how you calculate 5.5M oz in your wisdom. So please do enlighten me and the rest of this blog.
Thanks in advance,
Oyster Head
