Unfortunately, I think you may have hit the nail on the head.
The Flashboys, artificial intellegence, algorithems, instantaneus trading et al seem to have taken all the fun and relative predictability out of investing the old fashioned way. It's now a big game for sophisticated gamblers.
It's becoming very difficult to make money in mining stocks, junior or senior.
I remain hopeful that BRICS will adopt gold.
If they don't, everyone, except for perhaps the one percent, will sink deeper into the quagmire.
And, don't think for a minute that the great fiat experiment has not created the quicksand that is swallowing everything in a mountain of unsustainable debt.
Who knows, if something drastic and earthshaking doesn't take place sooner than later, maybe even the 1% will sink with the rest of us.
