The fifth revision of the Mine’s Closure Plan was submitted to MERN in August 2023 and is awaiting regulatory approval (the 2023 Closure Plan). The estimated cost of the current Closure Plan (the Closure Plan) restoration work is $ 9,765,470. According to the Closure Plan, $ 8,232,941 has already been secured to the MNRF following Imerys' May 2020 filing of an addendum to the fourth revision of the restoration plan. If the 2023 Closure Plan is approved by MERN, an additional amount of $1,532,529 will need to be secured into the financial guarantee in accordance with the Mining Act. A further update of the Closure Plan may be required by MERN to extend LDI’s mine life.
