Hot town summer in the city.........Hot town summer in the city – looking forward to it!!
Exactly a month ago on April 14
th I posted my
1st 100 days list (then stretched it to
112 days) and ended the post with the following comment:
Doug Mason’s decision to be the CEO on an ongoing basis tells me “
game on”.
I have been introduced to Doug, so all I can say is that I have met him but don’t know him, I probably wouldn’t recognize him away from the NSP offices. My comments are based on what I have read, questions I have asked and what I have been told by people that do know him.
There are lots of places where you can read what Doug Mason is involved in now and what he has accomplished in the past.
LinkedIn is one.

Here is why I think it is “game on”:
March 2015 – joined NSP Advisory Board
Nov 7, 2017 – appointed to Board of Directors
Jan 3, 2018 – becomes interim CEO
Apr 11, 2018 – becomes permanent CEO
Throughout the 3 years of Doug’s involvement he has been privy to all the decisions – good and bad – that have got NSP to where it is today – he knows a lot more detail than any of us here.
I am told he lives in a nice home in West Vancouver, his commute to his super office is/was less than 5 minutes from home; he is ~ 73 years old and has what might be described as a pretty comfortable life doing the things one might expect of a successful business person in his position.
So why would he choose to be take on the CEO role; drive for 51 km from home to Pitt Meadows (45-60 minutes each way) and not just enjoy the comfortable lifestyle he has earned?
He doesn’t need the money as far as I can tell and Mar 14, 2018 –
purchased 100,000 shares in public market at .265 even though he has a ton of options.
Bored? Seems to me he is pretty involved with other activities.
Maybe, just maybe
he has a very clear picture of what is being built at NSP and is excited to play an active part in the development of it.
