You don't spend the extra money when you have none to "rush" assays if you aren't expecting some positive results.
My hope is they saw realgar or orpiment in the rock chips giving reason for hope. If they did see this type of mineralization, there is hope for a positive surprise from the assays. But seeing realgar and orpiment would not guarantee a good gold hit. And I am purely speculating on the reason for the "rush" on the assays.
Do your own due diligence first and don't listen to me. I am a novice investor.
