$15M Raise @ $1.20 Closing Today?? Is it true??

Wondering if any of you have heard about this and if its true how will it affect the stock price?

Concerned investor.
Comment by AnchorValue on Dec 08, 2020 7:04pm
yes it is concerning. If Adam is reading I hope in the future he follows what the investment banks do and price the stock after a book has been built, rather than leading discussions with pricing and building a book. that being said, the stock could have easily gone the other way.
Comment by AnchorValue on Dec 08, 2020 7:41pm
To be fair, the deal probably actually priced a week ago, and all the paperwork for the release must have just finished if they are announcing today.
Comment by Chuburashka on Dec 08, 2020 7:50pm
I own 50k worth of retail stock.  If this is true.  When the news breaks I'm going to get hit.  Should I sell?  Is this even legal??  Doesn't seem right and it's unfair to the people buying it on the open market.
Comment by twaver on Dec 08, 2020 8:21pm
I'm actually quite happy.  This is probably the last PP they will need to do.  It should bring the share count up around 200 million - which is the number most of us use in our calculations about future value.  If they had done this in September or earlier, it would be far more dilutive.  Sure, the people who got in on this PP are making out well (I've been in that ...more
Comment by Chuburashka on Dec 08, 2020 8:36pm
If it's true.  They are selling discounted stock behind our backs and diluting our shareholder value. I know better than to hold out for continually moving goal posts. I'm forced to sell.  I'm out on open.  Maybe I can buy back in at 1.20 with full warrants?   Good Luck Very annoyed investor
Comment by auricgold on Dec 08, 2020 10:59pm
twaver, I agree with your point of view 100% including the takeover. Holding close to 1 mill shares myself and having this PP gives me even more reassurance. Not having the funds to drill and keep asking for funds was the worrisome part for me. Now we are set.
Comment by EStreet on Dec 08, 2020 8:23pm
Ya right,,,,so where are you getting this from,,. Why dont you ask them if you should sell your retail stock?
Comment by Chuburashka on Dec 08, 2020 8:38pm
why would you be offended??
Comment by Flash9155 on Dec 08, 2020 8:38pm
What if I told you, this PP started more than 2 Weeks ago when the share price was in the 1.40s and they are announcing only once the paperwork is complete? Would you have guessed that OCO would go up by 70 cents within 2.5 Weeks?
Comment by Chuburashka on Dec 08, 2020 8:39pm
Is that Legal?
Comment by auricgold on Dec 08, 2020 11:02pm
Chubu, you must be a US investor. This is Canada, no frivolous lawsuits because management did something right. It is absolutely legal. They have to take into account the 30 or even the 60 days moving average. Especially with volatile stocks.  This, if its true, is a amazing thing. I think if you are looking at $1.20 again, you are dreaming. either you hang in there and ride with it or sell ...more
Comment by MikPrecious on Dec 08, 2020 11:24pm
They had to have commitments long time ago and payment so at that time probably you would have not agreed to it at that price.  I'm sure Also they have key big strategic players on here which should help the company move big time.  It is a good strong hold for the company to derisk.  I wouldn't be worried if history has shown us about this company as relayed to you.   ...more
Comment by auricgold on Dec 08, 2020 10:57pm
Chibu, lat time they raised at 0.60 the stock went to 1$ by the time they closed and now is at $2.10. you do the math. this is 15 million of SOLID investors holding to the end and funding the entire drill program. Management is genius to get the funds at these high prices. I recall from conversation that institutions were hesitating and humming and humming. Loook at it now.
Comment by caliche on Dec 08, 2020 11:08pm
if this is true Oroco has pulled off the best deal i have ever seen! a junior manages to secure argueably the best deposit up for sale at the best time for copper (in production defecit) aaand fund it internally so as we are not beholden to any major or bank or fund!!?  wut? :) the 15? mil plus the 10 we have will get us to the maximum spend and secure the maximum percentage 81% or ...more
Comment by auricgold on Dec 08, 2020 11:26pm
Agreed Caliche. Also, think of all the warrants which will bring another 15 million $ at least. This is a dream come true. Wow, what a change in the last 18 months!!! BTW, steaks in Toronto if we exit at 5$ or more. on me.
Comment by MikPrecious on Dec 08, 2020 11:30pm
I will be holding you onto those steaks in Toronto. I do believe greatly it assists to derisk and the funds at these price is amazing considering they had done a few months ago at 60 cents.  They probably figured an offer was to good to pass up from some key investor offer. This stock should and hope to move it up higher now as drills will be churning much faster than ever imagined.
Comment by auricgold on Dec 09, 2020 2:04am
Mik, the offer is valid IF you show proof of owning shares till buyout!!!
Comment by AnchorValue on Dec 09, 2020 2:03am
How about pre-emptive steaks in Toronto if we are comfortably over $5 sometime next year with no buyout?
Comment by auricgold on Dec 09, 2020 2:06am
No steaks only AFTER I cash out, which means when we get bought. I need the $$$$ to buy the steaks. ill hold to my shares till then! 5$ before buyout gets you drinks in TO at the Fairmont hotel or in Vancouver at the Rosewood hotel georgia.
Comment by caliche on Dec 09, 2020 2:53am
i love the rosewood!

Man,  This thread is cracking me up - what a great read. So many golden comments. GO OROCO
Comment by Kloby on Dec 09, 2020 8:21am
You guys are too funny. I'll join you in TO but I'll pay for my own steak. After all, if it hits $5, we could all afford to pay for our own steaks!
Comment by auricgold on Dec 09, 2020 12:13pm
Kloby, welcome to the group. We go do several steakhouses, theres a few good ones in TO. Vancouver doesnt come close. Gotham is a disgrace and the other one is overglorified. The Keg is the best you will get in Van.

Comment by Cupofjava on Dec 09, 2020 1:34pm
Vancouver does have the advantage that Oroco is based there.  Even though they will make more money than us, I think it would be great to take them out for dinner as a 'thank you'.  They seem like good people I would love to meet them and thank them for doing such a great job.
Comment by momo14 on Dec 09, 2020 2:26pm
if it pulls back after pp news i am a buyer...would be nice $1.50
Comment by zins on Dec 09, 2020 2:59pm
A pullback would be more tasty than steak...

So long Chuburashka and all of his shares SH Born 12/8/2020   SH Deceased 12/9/2020 It was a hell of a ride. You will be missed dearly, for the days of $1.00 OCO are a distant memory.

What - not a fan of Hy's? I would do Hy's over the Keg. Gotham's yeah not so much... Can't say I've had steak at Rosewood, it never struck me as a steak place.   Now Elisa has some great steak but it's fairly new.
Comment by auricgold on Dec 09, 2020 3:57pm
I went to Hy's 2 times in my life. Yes, they make a good Foie de Veaud, calf liver, but frankyl for the price, not sooooo wowed by them. They are 1 notch above Keg maybe but TO is holly cow.I went o Michaels and it was out of this realm. Comment by auricgold on Dec 08, 2020 10:53pm
I would say the deal priced more than 2 weeks ago. you dont raise 15 million in a week. Takes a week to get all the incoming wires. This is fantastic news of its true.

You Joined stockhouse today for what reason ?
Comment by Chuburashka on Dec 08, 2020 9:17pm
You interregating me with attitude??  Why?    When a company is rumoured to be raising funds without public notice at nearly $1.00 below market rate it raises questions especially when i bought 50k of it at $1.90.  I want to know if it's true.  I dont want to take the loss.
Comment by thereader on Dec 08, 2020 9:28pm
Do you mean a 15% discount to the market one week ago? You know it takes a while to close these things, and a well funded company is more attractive? It's not at all clear why you think such a funding would cause the price in the market to drop. The opposite is more likely true.
Comment by Chuburashka on Dec 08, 2020 9:35pm
I dont see how 15m + warrants at half price wont hurt the current retail rate.  At this stage I dont even know if it true.  I didn't see notice of a second financing announced.  Did i miss something?
Comment by MariuszSkonieczny on Dec 08, 2020 9:57pm
Chuburashka, On June 30, 2020, Oroco closed on a private placement at $0.30 per share. On that day, the stock price was $0.49 per share. The stock price did not drop as a result of this annoucement. It actaully went up. Here is the press release of the annoucement and you can check the stock price yourself. https://orocoresourcecorp.com/oroco-closes-non-brokered-private-placement-4/ On ...more

These deals take a couple of weeks to get done.  When started, no one knows if the stock will go up, stay flat, or go down.   In this case the stock is rocketing up.  So, if true, the investors got lucky.   There is also the risk that the stock crash could crash during the time it takes for a deal to organized.  If it does, investors can't say "Nevermind ...more

Comment by BakaSensei on Dec 08, 2020 10:22pm
If a PP is confirmed, you need to look at what the share price was trading at 2-3 weeks prior. The company gives about 15%-30% discount from that date. No one could have known it would increase this much such a short amount of time. Yet at $2.10, it's still undervalued
Comment by pancakesgalore on Dec 08, 2020 11:05pm
For what it's worth, I agree with you. I agree that you should sell your shares. You can always FOMO back in when it hits $3.
Comment by Pepelepieux on Dec 09, 2020 11:12am
If they're raising as much $ as the rumor says, this should be just about the last capital raise as the remaining $ to fund the drilling program would be collected from the exercise of warrants.  That is good news. I totally understand your frustration. If looked at out of context and given the history of mining companies, it would be warranted.  I've been invested in OCO for a ...more

I think we just wait and see what happens. Given how hot and heavy this guy came onto the board out of nowhere, clearly with little background on the recent PP's, I am not sure why any of us are giving this rumor an ounce of credit, whether you support it or not. We are all aware that Adam mentioned interest in a final PP to get us into the home stretch so the timing makes sense but my level ...more
