Government inaction with Corentyne

Government inaction with Corentyne

End of day, many people are upset and frustrated. What I don't get is how the government of Guyana can continue to allow both Frontera and CGX to kill time with Corentyne.

https://www.bnamericas.com/en/news/guyana-licensing-round-2022-successful-bidders

Look at the link above. Numerous companies formed JV partnerships and bid on various Guyana oil and gas licenses that have nothing more than seismic leads or sparse well data. These licenses also required various financial and financial services to obtain government approval. In light of this, why the hell does the government continue to allow CGX and Frontera to drag their proverbial as*es with Corentyne? Drilling one well per calendar year, no matter how good it might be, will not cut it. It seems like blasting CGX and Frontera through third party sources (ie, local media) doesent seem to have an impact either. In short, guys like Suresh and De Alba have absolutely no respect for the processes or dedication needed to progress a project from exploration to production. And for whatever reason, the government seems OK with both companies killing time and always find workarounds for their lazinesses and stupidity.

So many companies globally would love to have massive light oil resources, and likely reserves, on their land base. CGX and Frontera have this, yet both companies kill time and act secretive. Astonishing really and hopefully one day the government wakes up and realizes neither of these two companies are the answer to secondary production from Guyana that doesent involve the Exxon JV.
