Why I hold Recaf

1.) It is in an area of the African continent with geology that should have abundant good quality oil like its immediate neighbor to the north Angola. Also an estimated 11 billion of barrels have already been found off of Namibia’s shore.

2.) The survey and testing by very reputable established organizations so far indicate this.

3.) It has a seasoned, experienced, highly competent management and technical team.

4.) It is a “contrary” play doing on shore exploration where most exploration/development recently is off shore. Thus with greater area/risk; greater reward.

5.) By African standards it is in a fairly friendly, safe, pro-development country, Namibia, with great local, tribal, and national government support.

6.) It’s buyout potential is great and current stock price currently low. It Recaf-110621

These seem to be very good reasons to own this stock but then why all the lawsuits?
Comment by Charlie2 on Nov 09, 2021 9:19am
They aren\t lawsuits, it's a short play tactic (manipulation)to attempt to drive Stock Price down. Anyone can say they are  "Investigating" something or someone. In this case it's dirty lawyers paid by dirtier shorters trying to scare you off.

The reason NOT to hold this stock: COP agreement to end exploration funding for fossil fuels! The Dutch, US, and a host of big countries are banning the exploration financing for fossil fuels. So even if there is all this oil here how are they going to get it out with no major financing that has been banned?

LOL ,  Shell said they need to find more oil to fund green energy programs ( look it up with CEO interview ) COP is bla bla bla , China and Russia will never agree and all the major plays will dig in Africa . like it or not that's the way it is , no one will stop looking and drilling for years .
Comment by Ryjo1980 on Nov 09, 2021 3:40pm
fair question..... Investors like us or anyone who needs oil. My question is .... how can u not strike easy to access oil when offshore is much more dangerous, costly. Nevermind the fact that the ocean has enough oil seeps without us poking holes into it. Not to mention the likely hood of large accident or spills is far greater off shore. Easier to patrol on land for any spills and the extra ...more

Hey BP, where did you find this seismic "interpretation"?  This is wrong on so many levels! High amplitude seismic events do not "scream hydrocarbons"!  Seismic reflector amplitudes are purely a function of rock sonic and density differences. We already know there is a mixture of carbonate and clastic layers in the first 2 wells, that should generate high amplitude ...more

You're not a geophysicist. You're nothing but a disturber. You appeared out of nowhere ~half a year ago and claimed you are here to save us from bad investments. You said you had no skin in the game. Who does that? Then one day you got all upset when challenged and said you are leaving and will not post another thing on Reco.   Please do us a a favour .....stick to your ...more

Seraphim1, I must agree with you. JimGeorges posts don't make any sense and all they do is spew.
Comment by jimgeorge on Nov 09, 2021 8:20pm
You guys are hilarious....you wouldn't know a geophysicist if one shot a seismic line through your backyard.  I'm just correcting misinformation, the real BS was that pile of cr@p BP reposted from somewhere.  And don't be so sensitive, I didn't cr@p on Recon, I just criticized the phony seismic interpretation that appeared on this Board. Relax, I'll only post when I ...more

Hey jimmy, your memory is failing! Don't you remember your first post about V.RECO ReconAfrica is a scam!

Not surprising. This jimmygeorge is all over the place. Must be unstable.

Anybody care to comment on the facts in my post? BP? Are you still there? Where did you get that seismic "interpretation"?

Bpultra's on top of things. He posts so many insightful links, pics, articles, etc., but there'll always be a hater or two. A Gym and a Jeorje

Why do you guys always think I hate something or somebody? I just want to know where BP found that seismic....
Comment by ZaPhiCa on Nov 10, 2021 3:35am
JG can you go to Discord and discuss it with Geos there. I'm wondering what kind of discussion you guys will have. Right now you are a pest and spread FUD.
Comment by pacer001 on Nov 10, 2021 11:29am
Well said ZaPhiCa about JG. There should be a board for folks like JG where they all can go and vent against each other.

You are not a geophysicist, you are a charlatan. You’re also a moron, because the interpreted seismic that BP posted says right on the picture where it’s from and who made it.   To the rest of the board:  I know that no one is taking this fool seriously, but if someone is reading this who has been confused by the nonsense from jimgeorge, or if you’re just curious, look up “Direct ...more

One more thing I want to address:  jimgeorge said, "The only direct seismic indicator of hydrocarbons is an amplitude versus offset (AVO) anomaly, which is usually the result of highly porous sandstone reservoir saturated with gas. There is no direct oil indicator.”   This is totally wrong and is clearly written by someone trying to negatively twist information they just ...more
Comment by jimgeorge on Nov 10, 2021 10:45am
Thanks for the (mostly) rational discussion, other than the name calling.  The SEGwiki website has a good write up on direct hydrocarbon indicators. The AVO effect from a gas saturated sand also results in a "bright spot" on stacked data. This is really the only reliable DHI, other indicators like dim spots, flat spots, phase change etc are much trickier and in my experience are ...more

A week ago ABC national news did a big story about the dire lack of water in southeast Africa and to send money to have water purcashed for delivery there.  Why is there no coverage about Recaf building self sufficient wells for the locals so they can get their own clean water without outside help? By all accounts the Recaf wells are a great thing for the locals and should be known.
