Drill core in-field assay via XRF
Most exploration companies use portable XRF Analyzer to examin rock and drill samples at location. Those machines are highly accurate and often will determine the progress of the drill campaign (locations) , and will give the operator an excellent indication what he is dealing with.
Cores still have to be split and send to the lab for independent analysis, and this can take weeks, but if you have an XRF machine in your hand, you know whats in the core right there, right now......
