Hell, if it goes up 2 cents a day, it'll be a $5 stock in under a year! :-)

Broadcom (Avago) is a competitor.  However, they have a vertical integration challenge when it comes to competitors sourcing them for some active cable solutions.  Anyone in chip manufacturing like Broadcom, TI, Samsung Semiconductor, etc are obvious potential competitors.  However, DSP players are also either a threat or potential buyers, like Qualcomm -- if they decide they want to leverage their  DSP IP in the wired space.  NetApp has been speculated as a company that may want Spectra as a value-add company.

Given that active copper DSP chips are a relatively new happening, it's hard to say what will play out.  They have enough patents to make them relevant for years.
