It took them 4 days to drill the first vertical well and release information about it so judging from that they may have news as soon as Friday on what's happening with the vertical part of the well. If there's oil in recoverable quantities then they will go on to finish the horizontal legs of the well and the news release stated those targets would be reached in two weeks.

All depends on how the well is designed. If the vertical part comes in on prognosis (ie. high up on structure) then the angle of well could be shallowed and go horizontal through hydrocabon column. Alternatively its a vertical pilot hole, which is logged (to demonstrate movable hydrocarbons), and then plugged and side-tracked into the first horizontal leg. Somebody suggested that the well design
