Globe yak on TIC dealGlobe/CP say Titanium finally gets deal on technology Ticker Symbol: C:TIC Globe/CP say Titanium finally gets deal on technology Titanium Corp Inc (C:TIC) Shares Issued 64,425,039 Last Close 10/1/2015 $1.40 Friday October 02 2015 - In the News The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday edition Titanium shares soared Thursday after announcing an agreement that gives the company access to heavy minerals at Syncrude's oil sands sites. A Canadian Press dispatch to The Globe says Titanium shares closed at $1.40, up 62 cents. Titanium said it will have "first right" to recover heavy minerals from waste generated at Syncrude sites using a patented technology it owns. Syncrude was given a 50-per-cent interest in the patented technology, which will also extract bitumen from the waste deposited in tailing ponds. The company spent 10 years negotiating with oil-sands producers including Syncrude, Suncor and Canadian Natural Resources to apply its technology, Scott Rattee, former senior analyst at Edgecrest Capital, told CP the stock is surging "because people are amazed it finally happened." The technology could give Titanium access to "several hundred million" dollars a year worth of minerals including zircon and titanium dioxide that are now dumped. The technology also raises bitumen extraction by 2 to 3 per cent and makes the resulting tailing ponds much cleaner as a result, said Mr. Rattee. Oil-sands companies want to reduce their environmental impact. 2015 Canjex Publishing Ltd.
