and so we wait

Something of an undewhelming PP.

I really don't know what to make of the state of affairs with TLT. I disagree with any bashing back and forth. I continue to believe in the science. I don't think that the share price reflects the science, but sadly, the confidence in the management team.

Clearly, RDW wanted to raise more money but does not seem to have the connections to make it happen.

Explanation 1
He is an engineer/CEO with a bit of a history with OSC whose company is on the venture exchange in Toronto. I worry that he simply doesn't know enough people to call to invest. Boston based biotech companies can raise 500 million on animal data alone. Roger, not so much.

Explanation 2
He is working hard to avoid any deals that would cause him to lose any autonomy over the company. As such he is not working hard to get any big players involved. This company is his legacy and he has worked too hard to share it. As such, he is calling around and getting cash from people he knows in Toronto and that is the best he is willing to do.

Obviously Ruvidar should get BTD but nothing is certain in this world.

Since he didn't raise that much cash, there will be a repeat fear that another PP is around corner.

Therefore the price will stagnate at this 0.23-0.25 range for the next few months.

What I cannot make sense about is the 2nd level bid ask today. There are very large chunks parked at 0.24 and 0.255. Why park? If you need the cash you strategically sell in small amounts to get it out without signalling to the market that you are getting out. Parking a big ask doesn't really sell it for you, just stalls the price. I really wish I knew the thinking behind those big asks. I thought it was people getting cash to buy in to the PP but now I don't know what it would be. Serious ideas anyone?

Skills of ower new director last june :  partnering of their promising drug candidates with large international pharmaceutical companies and ultimately increasing shareholder value. Partnering is in progress... I hope! GL

Innovation = Science + Execution.  VC backers in the US push the execution part, which includes hiring the right talent, networking and PR, hitting timelines, etc. it's not too hard to see what's been lacking and why Canadians are wary of opening their wallets after years of delays.  Plus, you're stuck on a small exchange where no serious investment firm goes to buy.  ...more

DJDawg, I think the answer to your intersting question lies somewhere between Explanation 1 and Explanation 2. Roger got burned the last time he did a public offering; and who can forget how we all suffered watching the share price drop from around .48 down to .25 with no explanation, until news was finally provided after all the damage was done. That experience turned him off. A lot of investors ...more

Surely -- the big ask is a technique to force any genuine seller to put in an ask below the big ask price. Guess who the buyer will be?
Comment by DJDawg on Sep 08, 2023 1:07pm
It feels to me that the big ask thing has to be calculated as someone really trying to sell wouldn't do it that way. Perhaps it keeps a cap on the stock and helps shake out some shares for someone to buy at the 0.225 and 0.23. Maybe same entity has the big ask and big bids to create bookends.
Comment by N0taP00p on Sep 08, 2023 2:06pm
On the US side, the big ask is sitting at 17.5 cents, daring you to buy.  Literally a lid.   I'm sure the algorithms will move that higher based on a smaller pre-set volume at 17.5. Can't fathom why someone would want to short an already beaten down stock, unless the intent like the post above says, is to force people to sell low so this entity can keep buying low. There , I ...more

The  way I see it tlt has to deliver this year be btd aa to get some recognition or trust from investors. Another  f up will be disastrous

Dawg, I put no credence in your explanation #2. IMO, as soon as the right deal shows up, Roger would grab it, take his many $millions and retire to hockey coaching haven. He has other interests besides TLT. i e ... Not too long ago he coached multiple hockey teams. Besides, he is well into retirement age. To me, his # 1 problem is being on the Venture. Few heavy investors will venture here. In ...more

I would lean more to Explanation 2 than Explanation 1. I'm not sure if Roger has a problem getting big players involved, but he may be particular about the kind of deal he is willing to accept. There was some indication of this in 2020 when he may have passed on a deal with Roswell Park to use TLD1433 in a NSCLC trial that could have brought a lot more attention to TLD1433 PDT. In 2020 ...more

Eog Funny you mention it as I was just thinking about that Roswell situation. Clearly there was a non-science or some sort of business reason that this did not happen. I think that there was big money behind that with Lumeda & I'm sure that is did not suit Theralase's best interests

But Rosswel used Ttl in their experiment   ?
Comment by tdon1229 on Sep 09, 2023 1:28pm
Note that those of us south of the border are excluded from this, and previous, PPs because of the unregistered stock shares and the untraceable warrants involved in the offerings.  Unless we have a Canadian account, we can't trade them.  In general, relatively few of us have Canadian accounts.
Comment by tdon1229 on Sep 09, 2023 1:51pm
Should read "untradeable" warrants...auto-correct has a mind of its own and I failed to catch it before posting.
Comment by DJDawg on Sep 09, 2023 2:24pm
You bring up an interesting topic. Americans investing in TLT. Do you feel that most American will shy away because it is an OTC stock in another country? We Canadians know that TSX is legit and TSX venture is semi-legit so it is not as much of a leap for us to invest in those companies.
Comment by Bigkahuna57 on Sep 09, 2023 3:11pm
I don't think enough Americans are aware of the technology and subject matter to invest. There is a small group that will not participate yet, b/c they feel there's enough time from now at this share price to where it's less of a risk after BTD, then AA.  Yes the sp will be higher but not so much that the multiple on the gain in sp will outweigh the wait on confirmation of " ...more

I'd love to be a fly-on-the-wall to hear a conversation between Theralase and the Indian government.  Then to have the follow up conversation with Health Canada.  "So.... which way are "we" going to finish this guys? Eh?"  Just the insinuation of going to a foreign government as a partner to finish a possible cure for cancer has really "bad optics." ...more

In general, US investors don't look north of the border for new drugs and/or medical devices.  Theralase looks like it could be the exception that proves the rule, but it's been dead money for many years.  Many of my fellow countrymen don't have the patience to tie up their money for 8-10 years.  any decades ago a fortune teller said I would come to money late in life ...more

Still here, still kicking though I don't know why.  My wife suffered from ever increasing Dementia for the last two years.  She finally succumbed three weeks ago after multiple strokes. There is a certain amount of suspicion when potential investors see that TLT has a game-changing treatment, works with and is supported by the biggest, most respected cancer labs/organizations in the world but has a such a ridiculously low share price. "It looks so great! But why is the sp still so low?" TLT's sp is in a deep groove that it keeps returning to because of daytraders ...more
