re:Columbian conference...Good to know that TMG is aware of the opportunities in this part of the world. The countries here are not likely to have their own energy saving and environmental footprint technology base. Germany, for example, is well advanced in such. A point here is that TMG can expect to find that market problematic to crack due to likelihood of competing technologies whether similar to TMG's or just a totally different approach. For, example. changing lightbulbs is a very viable enrgy saver, hence pollution cutter.as well. There was mention of a German connect to the Chilean government and the latter's desire to put funding into energy saving and environmental footprint improvement technologies. The two are now running trials of technology application in 3 pilot projects. Germany is,as mentioned, a very advanced technology nation. It was also mentioned that TMG,with its German sales reps , may be part of such pilot studies. Maybe, yes. Maybe,no. Have to wait and see.
TMG,IMO, was fortunate in being in England early and managed to get its foot in the door of NHS /government funded spending to modernize hospital heating systems with goal of energy saving and pollution cutting.. Even in Canada, TMG has had difficulties tapping funding. Three large P&P plants in Prince George B.C. were looking for solutions to the cloud of pollution sitting like an umbrella over the town. Local government pressed the province for funding. They tried scrubbers. They workrd but soon found they needed bigger, better scrubbers which they went for. Point is that the government funding was tied to B.C. based firms. The scrubbers came from the same supplier B.C.. Project at the time was around $18m(?). Another point to consider is to understand that government funding is often tied to their political jurisdiction.
In the case of Chile and Columbia it is the national government applying to where they see fit, as hospitals, education, apartment residentials. If a company can link up to the government here, then the national government is the greater/umbrella partner. The hospital is,hopefully, the very happy customer with more dollars to its bottom line treating patients. And, the national government looking to apply the proven technology to moroe hospitals, etal. Could think of Central and South American nations as "virgin markets".
Posts by other posters putting forward the Columbian,Chilean,German information also points to broadening opportunities for TMG. Would be welcome news to have another market area successfully tapped into. Although Germany may be tough to crack due to their technology prowess, TMG sales rep there also provide the opportunity to capture a client or two. Each success helps pave the way for the next.
No doubt SP will rise with more clients and sales to.
