clarification required

Over the last number of years, Bill has adamantly repeated China is not in the mix of sales priorities, yet in the latest reorg of Senior Management posts on the website, for Rob, COO, it shows: 

Robert Triebe has worked in varying capacities since first joining the Company in 1993. His responsibilities have ranged from research and development, to project design and implementation to his more recent efforts managing the North American and China sales team. 

Did something change that TMG is giving China sales a priority now and now that Mr Harden is VP, Sales of North America, I wonder how the roles will be redefined....will China be a concern, and if not, why is it even mentioned ?

Anyone have any thoughts or insight ?

One way or the other, TMG is going to boom.....

I would say that the summary of the previous lengthier write-up had not been updated.  I believe that in one of the presentations the CEO stated that there wasn't much of a sales office in China and had been closed. Hopefully once Mr. Harden's profile is added, they can clarify who is in charge of sales and marketing, including for Europe.  Not quite sure that they pay enough ...more

As far as I know, the China operation is now just an empty shell that they keep alive just in case. I remember Bill saying that the reason they decided to exit that area was that the Chinese companies didn't care about quality, they just wanted projects that were dirt cheap. I would be more worried that the Chinese would commission a few projects and then rip off the IP. Next thing you know ...more

Relatively consistent with my recollection. I believe an example was not that a "partner" did not care about the quality for GEM traps, for example, but wanted them at a too low of a cost. In any case, I think the key point is that TEI could revisit their references to China to ensure that opportunities for misunderstanding are minimized and reflect reality.
