I was under the impression that if someone opened the Edge trading account that they would be able to trade for $6.95 regardless of whether they have any other accounts. They may have changed their policy...I opened up an account with them 4-5yrs ago after being only with TD Greenline Discount Brokerage who were at that time $27 a trade. Nevertheless, it makes sense because while they give you a good trading rate they are a bank after all and would like to get it from somewhere else such as if you hold say $60,000 plus assets in any of their accounts. And we know what that always means low interest on daily banking accounts and high service charges.
