As for politics, the current stance of Trump and the GOP continues a very disturbing trend of false narratives aimed at thwarting the proper outcome of the electoral process. Saying outcomes of the vote where you win are “legitimate” and where you lost “fraudulent” contrary to intelligence agencies, oversight bodies, the Courts, basically any responsible public officials ... is an extremely dangerous path. It can come back to deny everyone a right to truth and a vote that counts.
Conspiracy theories, outlandish claims without evidence, refusals to admit obvious facts ... is the stuff of tin-pot dictatorships and failed states. And of foolish poor losers fighting rearguard actions against obvious defeat. For those of us that look forward to an end to the Trump administration the sole silver lining is watching him stretch out his own loss and humiliation. Talk about rubbing it in. It should be embarrassing but when you have no shame ... you have no shame. That he conned 70 million votes is to me absolutely remarkable. Pity the decline and debasement of the Republican Party. They are training a whole generation of young people to spurn conservatism as the doctrine of hypocrisy. That is a shame because conservatives have a lot more to offer if they could be more credible.
