but the real kicker is how long it takes to get commissioned and tested
that could take yrs, not months
tmrc got there commissioning 2 yrs ago.  And never heard squat from them
i don't think LA is getting REE money from feds.  They, like every other state, are getting a chunk of the 1 trillion ( not ) infrastructure bill.    Can they use that for REE.  Sure.  Just like they can use it for roads/ bridges etc

i don't discount that feds should throw cash at a working economically feasible SMC
just don't know if ucore has what they need. Being a bit faster is solid for separation 
there are a ton of other things that go into it besides separation. And known of us has any clue if ucore has the chops to do that
ryan seems fairly competent re: manufacturer background.    At least that's better than Mr mothership.  Hub spoke ( when he can't get the first one off the ground) ie. Jim M
