AMERICAN FORK, Utah, Nov. 6, 2018 /CNW/ -- IBC Advanced Technologies, Inc. ("IBC") announces the resignation of Mr. Steven R. Izatt, IBC's President and CEO, and Dr. Reed M. Izatt from the Advisory Board of Ucore Rare Metals, Inc. ("Ucore.")

"IBC has assessed that its goals are no longer aligned with those of Ucore," stated Mr. Izatt. "Although we have enjoyed our association with the Ucore team over the past several years, it has become increasingly apparent that Ucore and IBC are on divergent paths and our continuation in an advisory role would no longer be beneficial."

Steven Izatt coined the term "Molecular Recognition Technology" ("MRT") and is a frequent speaker on the application of IBC's SuperLig® MRT products and processes to a variety of separations challenges faced by industry. He serves on the Advisory Board of Lithium Energi Exploration Inc. and has served on the Board of Directors of the International Precious Metals Institute ("IPMI"). Mr. Izatt received the IPMI Jun-ichiro Tanaka Distinguished Achievement Award for his entrepreneurial contributions to the precious metals industry. He is a Registered Member of The Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration and a member of the American Chemical Society. Mr. Izatt holds two M.S. degrees, one in Chemical Engineering Practice and the other in Technology and Policy, both from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as a B.A. degree in Chemistry from Brigham Young University.

Dr. Reed M. Izatt received a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Utah State University and a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, with an Earth Sciences minor, from Pennsylvania State University. After post-doctoral work at Mellon Institute of Industrial Research, he embarked on an academic career at Brigham Young University retiring as Charles E. Maw Professor of Chemistry. He is the author or co-author of over 550 publications, and has research experience in macrocyclic and separations chemistry, calorimetry, and thermodynamics of metal-ligand interactions. His publications have received over 32,000 citations. Dr. Izatt is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He has received the American Chemical Society Separations Science and Technology Award, the Calorimetry Conference Huffman Award and the Utah Governor's Medal for Science and Technology. Dr. Izatt co-founded the International Symposium on Macrocyclic and Supramolecular Chemistry ("ISMSC"). In honor of his seminal contributions to the field of macrocyclic chemistry, IBC sponsors the Izatt-Christensen Award, which is presented annually at the ISMSC to the top macrocyclic chemist in the world as selected by his/her peers. Dr. Izatt is a co-founder of IBC and serves on IBC's Board of Directors.

IBC provides proprietary, green chemistry and green engineering SuperLig® Molecular Recognition Technology products and processes worldwide. More information can be found at: www.ibcmrt.com.
