Welcome to the REE nut house. You asked for a quick summary of Ucore and RSX. Okay, here goes.
Back in the 90s China either stole or bought plans for a regular solvent extraction plant, supposedly. Wink, Wink. Then with funding help of the CCCP they ran everybody out of the separation business by undercut the sale price of REEs. So by 2010 when they cut off Japan's REE in a fishing dispute. No one was doing REE separation except the chinese. Which caused a panic and REE prices when through the roof. Which caused a whole lot of people to out and find REE deposits. But before anyone could get the deposit developed said deposits China flooded the market and dropped the price so no one could do anything with said deposits except sale out to the chinese when they when around cherry picking the best deposits. During this time Ucore started out as a uranium mining company that was looking the Bokan mountain claims. While looking they also found that Bokan had four long vertical dikes of rich REE ore. Running to heavy REEs which makes you the most money. But they needed a better way of separating the REEs. SX needs a lot of Capx and Operx, plus a lot of room the plant are the size of a football field or bigger. Enter MRT, which we thought was the answer but the controling the tech was the original mad scientist, but very greedy. He wanted 40% of the profits or no tech. After years in court we lost and when looking for new tech to do separation. Enter RSX which uses columns instead of huge settling tank to get the react needed to split REE out of the ore or concertrate. In sealed columns you can heat, cool, or rise or lower pressure. Ucore having learned it lesson about getting REE separtion tech. Bought the tech lock, stock and company. For teh last few years we had been trying to get a SMC or commerical size plant buildt in Ketchekan Alaska. After the independent testing was done that changed. They enlarged the Demo plant, which is due to be commisioned the week of the 19th of Dec. We are waiting on funding from anybody to get a brownfield site SMC built in LA instead of a greenfield site in Alaska. if you have any questions Just ask, you will get many answers from many different points of views.
