Western Magnesium

Very interesting company with great potential upside!  Western Magnesium's patented process allows for magnesium to be produced in a fast, cost effective and environmentally friendly manner.  The current Industry's batch process has been a time consuming, costly and environmentally taxing process creating low production globally and 80% of production centralized in China.   Western Magnesium's green patented process will greatly increase interest of this metal and greatly increase production of magnesium in North America.  Magnesium being stronger than steel and lighter than aluminium will greatly benefit the vehicle industry whether the future is EV or combustion engines.

I recently took a position in this company and as Western Magnesium's story grows and balance sheet shapes up, I will add to my position.  GLTA

Patented process. Can you post the patent number?
Comment by BoardAddict on Feb 11, 2021 1:27pm
@KonnectTheDots is calling out statements, thus doing proper DD.  I respect that.  I like this board already.   I'll be the first to admit that I didn't do my proper DD as of yet which why I'm lightly treading at this point. I took a friends word on the process being patented, in the meantime I will do my best to find the patent number and post it.

There is no patent. Maybe patent pending. Anybody can apply for patent - whether it's accepted or not is a different question feeling like a 4th tranche day tomorrow.  My guess is 550k this time. Last time (3rd) I was bang on  Welcome to mops and magnesium

No patent... it's a trade secret like the recipe for Coke. Can last forever or end the minute anyone finds out.

But fact...they have a state of the art security alarm installed. Telus put it in when they came to turn on the internet.  I wonder if the telus salesman glanced and saw the patent Pending revolutionary magnesium garlic peeler

Patents aren't good,  any foreign country can copy the process and produce the metal and there is nothing you can do about it. Secrecy is the only way to go, that's why the company is so tight lipped. What exactly are you going to do with the patent number if there was one??
Comment by Executer99 on Feb 11, 2021 6:47pm
He's looming fof a patent number to prove they are fibbing once again

Sorry. My excitement got me  **he's looking for a patent number to prove they are fibbing once again

What exactly are you going to do with the patent number if there was one?? Well Mr. Probe, I know what I'd like to do with it.....  :-) When someone states they have a patented process, providing the patent number is evidence of the patent. Simple as that. But this would be contrary to what the company has stated previously. Our understanding has always been that the plan to keep the ...more

Not really KTD. What exactly does Patented process mean?  Some issues to consider before deciding to patent (See also Patenting strategy later.) Do you really need a patent? Would some combination of other forms of IPR protect your idea adequately? And be honest with yourself - are you perhaps motivated more by vanity (the prospect of a patent in your name) than by ...more

"When someone states they have a patented process, providing the patent number is evidence of the patent. Simple as that."  Your statement is incorrect. A patent number isn't given till the patented process is complete. Even then a company with a strategic plan will ultimately prove to be the most successful when timing this process to be the most beneficial for the Corporation ...more

Hey BoardAddict , good luck on your hunt , I doubt you will find what you are looking for. Interesting assessment you made on the DD...... I'm still trying to find the evidence of it.  @KonnectTheDots is calling out statements, thus doing proper DD.  I respect that.  I like this board already.

@stockprobe19.  At this time I have not been able to prove otherwise so I will respectfully retract my statement.  It sounds like a miss communication on my part.   Regardless, this is an interesting company.

Thanks @stockprobe19!  I have been looking at this company for over a year now and have finally pulled the trigger on buying shares.  In a recorded interview CEO: Sam Ataya mentioned that Western Magnesium is expecting production this year and is wanting a higher listing.  IMO, going on the Nasdaq without revenue is suicide, but It sounds like management is setting us up to have ...more

Thanks BoardAddict.  The thing is when the great news release does come out it probably will halt the stock and it will make a huge move where you will be able to get in at much higher prices. Nothing like now where entry is practically a give away. Getting on the Nasdaq is a 4 dollar stock price entry level. No one knows if the news release is a week away or several months but it is not ...more

"The thing is when the great news release does come out it probably will halt the stock and it will make a huge move where you will be able to get in at much higher prices." SP, what type of great news release are you anticipating? Give us a plausible scenario.
Comment by BoardAddict on Feb 14, 2021 3:09pm
I would assume multiple news releases will come out as they chip away at phase two.  Any time a company has significant materialistic news they have to report it.  Knowing this I feel it's safe to say this will go up in small jumps as stage two milestone are completed such as the financing, pilot project exporting, a listing upgrade and the announcement of the location of the full ...more

Besides the production of green magnesium, government funding WMG's new green production of magnesium, corporations getting in line to be the first to receive their green magnesium with an offtake agreement, major funding, a US State looking to be the first to have WMG set up a major production facility to promote jobs and the new green technology  and other possibilities that we may not ...more

BoardAddict, Your post was a good illustrator of how a company with patented technology is perceived by investors as opposed to a company that claims it has disruptive tech but is a 'secret'. That fact is always touted by companies when they have it because it gives investors a sence of confidence that they have something worthy of patenting. As shown in your post and many others, patents ...more

Excellent post KTD. Clearly you show your interest, understandably, in having the company patent it's process, to make you a millionaire. I too want that to happen. However the down side to that is several potential problems. The first being patent or no patent doesn't speed up the process but with a patent it will slow down the process. It takes time and money to patent a product. There ...more

Stockprobe, You need to read more carefully. To say that the management doesn't care is an ignorant statement coming from you, I expect more from you. The statement in my previous post that you called me out on: Most AMY investors that got in at a few cents are out by now, patent challenges? I'm sure they don't care. The 'they' in the second sentence refers to those in the ...more

KTD I'm in agreement with you on most of your points. I'm not sure comparing AMY to WMG is a fair comparison. The circumstances aren't the same. I did get out of Adanac well before it's decline.    You say it's  " Managements job is to try and look after its shareholders." True but not at the expense of the future success. Let's assume ...more
