Virginia has developed a strategy that consists of focusing exploration on a territory and then developing an expertise on this territory. Part of this strategy is also related to portfolio diversification for both properties and commodities. Partnerships have always been a key point in helping to share the risk in exploration, by sharing the cost of exploration with multiple partners. As a result of this, Virginia has maintained a strong financial situation that helps the Company through both good times and bad.
It is to be noted that Virginia holds a 2.2% NSR royalty on the Éléonore property that could reach up to 3.5% NSR based on gold price and ounces produced from the deposit. With the upcoming production, this royalty on Éléonore will be a major catalyst for shareholder value. Since April 2009 Virginia stated receiving cash advance payment of US$100,000 per month from Goldcorp.
