Shareholders expect a better price

1 million shares sold above 26.00 $ !!!

26.00$ too cheap for a 4.6% dividend stock.

Either that or they expect they will be getting three dividends before the closing (which they stated will happen in the next six months)? Meaning they would get 3 times $0.30 for a total of 90 cents, bringing their cost down to let's say : 26.15 - 0.90 : 25,25 with a buyback at 26 in six months. Does it make sense? It does make sense, annegel, but 6 months would give just a single 0.30$ dividend for sure and possibly a second 0.30$. This second one is a close call. Those currently accumulating above bid (~26.15) must expect an improved bid because it's not much return 0.15$ ( or 0.45$ ) for a 6 months wait. Noverco made an hostile bid to get our shares at a cheap price. Will vote NO too. It's written in their own independant report that VRN can value up to 28.50$ Why only 26$. Plus we have to do more: take few minutes to let know Valener IR that we are not happy with this story: 26$ for a stock giving 4.6% div. is a steal. In these days , a stable and growing dividend co. like this one worth ...more

I don't know why a shareholder would accept this kind of lowball offer unless he is paid to say yes.
