Theres another one on the wayPiedra Iman – The company is targeting the northern extension of Barrick Gold Corp.’s (ABX : NYSE : US$37.39 | ABX :
TSX | HOLD) 18 million ounce Pueblo Viejo Au deposit and believes that the large high-sulphidation Pueblo Viejo system
continues along its NW-SE trend, but is capped beneath an impermeable limestone host that currently masks the
mineralization at depth. Geochemical indicators such as the presence of hematite and zinc, as well as hydrothermal
alteration of the capping limestone, suggest good potential that the system extends northwest onto GoldQuest ground.
Gold Fields is currently drilling 4,500 metres as an initial program to test the exploration hypothesis.
San Juan/Las Tres Palmas – This large early-stage series of concessions in the northwest Dominican Republic cover a
high-sulphidation Au belt, only recently recognized by GoldQuest. A significant regional geochemical program spanning
over 40 kilometres along a northwest trend identified numerous anomalies. Initial follow-up work has been implemented
over most of the area. Gold Fields conducted a 33-hole drill program on one target, Escandalosa, which identified a
stratabound Au zone. Numerous other targets require follow-up ground truthing and initial geological mapping. We
believe this large, newly discovered belt of rocks has excellent geological potential and could provide the company with
several quality exploration targets.
