Trading patterns

Trading patterns

ARN and SCS have been trading very similarly, and suffering similar fates - significant parallels. Two different companies, two different managers. Solid assets and operational progress. Both way under-valued seemingly beyond the market norms. Trading includes similar patterns of sudden short-term/burst increases and decreases in buy and sell volumes, typically by relatively small amounts - a type of psychological "manipulation" (though perhaps not illegal - not sure). For example, the buy volume changes from 8000 shares to 8500 and within a second or two drops back down at 8000. I'm sure we could find other patterns and questionable trading. Is there some broader, more sinister market manipulation happening here? By whom? (No, not the managers - rule that one out) For what purpose? (to make money, or to take over the company?) And if there is deliberate same day buy-sell or short sell manipulation by some entity, at what point do they either take over the company or attempt to manipulate a price increase? What is Crescent Point's role here? There has been a general destruction of investor confidence and although jittery markets and some small misses share some blame, it's already seemingly gone too far.
