OpenNet continues at record pace

OpenNet continues at record paceOpenNet put out a press release today (July 8) stating that,

>>>The demand for fibre reached a record-high of over 31,000 connections in the month of June alone following the PC Show in early June.

“There was an exceptionally high demand for fibre connections in the month of June 2013. We are seeing robust demand for fibre broadband as Internet Service Providers (ISPs) step-up their promotion of fibre broadband packages greater than 100Mbps,” said Mr Daniel Ho, Director of Business Development and Communications, OpenNet.

OpenNet’s previous monthly new subscription record was 23,236.  To meet the unprecedented surge in demand, OpenNet has already added temporary installation capacity of more than 2,000 per week until end July 2013. Saturday installation capacity was also added for the first time during this period. In addition, OpenNet will further increase its regular installation capacity by more than 30% next week.<<<

They also stated that the number of broadband subscibers reached 380,000 at the end of June. They had 279,000 subscribers at the end of 2012, so they have added 100,000 in 6 months. The SingTel fees will dampen earnings going forward, but the growth in Singapore has been pretty phenominal and maybe Singapore will still contribute significant earnings regardless of the fees. And if Covage can keep growing and improving EBITDA margins Axia should be good to go. I have also noticed that "year over year" the Euro has strengthened against the "loonie" so that might further boost results in France. Looking forward to seeing the results of the 2Q get us over the $2 mark.
