It may be because the news just isn't that compelling. They have tested different battey cell materials to compare them, but can't really link it to anything concrete and applicable yet. So it's like saying the "Granny Smith apple tested better than the MacIntosh apple. We're hoping this means we can to cool things with pears in the near future."
It's sort of neutral news. If they had a more advanced prototype for their battery, it would be a different story. But these results just make you sort of go: "Huh. Neat."
