I believe bad news has all been priced in, this could mean that if they met expectation the stock could rise.
The large write-offs in Iceland in 4Q2016 could lead to better financial ratios going forward. Icelands economy seems solid. Guessing on 1Q2017 results seems difficult as I do not track wind conditions in Texas or snow amount or melts in Western Canada, or sunshine in the midwest USA, etc.
Your logic is if it happens in the past, it must happen the same way in the future. There is some truth to this, individuals have a hard time changing even if it is painful. However, the company is bringing generation online and did a internal re-organization earlier this year (or at least announced it and posted it on their website).
One thing is for sure, the time to execute and to get results, bring it to the next level...is 2017.
