The rise that you mention was not based on any material fact but rather irrational exuberance and a dream that management could right the ship. I too expected that the increasing revenue (production was up by over 50% in the latter half of 2016) would make the organisation more cost efficient. And yes, it did do that to some degree but the continuing results are mediocre.
"Bad management" is shouting back at us.
