RE:RE:RE:WHy so many AXY shareholders get it wrong‘"Bad management" is shouting back at us.’ ~ Mat

I am perhaps the last person to attack management, Ross Beaty.
-
However, I found this discussion by Marin Katusa may somehow be lining up with Mat’s observations/radar, and also hopefully be the key to a new leaf.

The Ross Beaty franchise/brand got a black eye because of the Anfield Gold screw up.
Anfield Gold was intended to be Ross Beaty’s gold producing vehicle and the resource didn’t hold together and was a bust. The share price of Anfield went from $1.30 to $0.45 in the last three months. The Anfield failure has caused selling pressure on Alterra. Combine that with concerns that Trump would make things tougher for green energy and you have extra pressure on Alterra shares.
-
I believe these concerns are unfounded. Green energy is now as cheap or cheaper than dirty energy in many places. Indiscriminate sellers have sold the good companies with the bad companies. This has created a huge buying opportunity in Alterra. The company was undervalued before the Trump victory, and it’s even more undervalued after the victory.
-
I am only trying to share with my subscribers my current thoughts and what I am doing with my own money.  Alterra is Ross Beaty’s largest ever investment in any one company. I want everyone to read the next paragraph very carefully.  It is my “street analysis” on the current Alterra situation.
-
Individuals like Ross Beaty, Robert Friedland, and Rick Rule share a common trait. Not only are they very successful resource entrepreneurs and in the twilight of their careers and want to end on a high. They have massive egos.
-
The thrill of succeeding and making money for their shareholders is very important to them.
The Anfield failure really got to Ross Beaty personally.  He doesn’t take failure lightly.
I personally view the failure of Anfield as a catalyst to get Ross going even harder on his own companies. Of all his companies, I believe Alterra holds the easiest near term catalyst because it’s so cheap as shown in our analysis above

End Quote.
