RE:Volumne

CANCDN wrote: Good news, the volumne is crashing which is really good news as it allows RioCan to start to return to normalcy. We need to go back to the days of 0.20% green days and 0.05% red days. Slow and steady. Lots of fear out in the market today, but everyone is holding tight.

One thing I've noticed in the past couple of months is this, when you pull up charts with intraday price/volume action, you'll notice that the stock goes up when there is lots of volume, and the pullbacks and drawdowns are on low volume.

I've been meaning to write a post on this to see if anyone has insights as to why. If there's low to no volume, is it the market maker dragging the bid/ask down, and if so, why?

The fact that the stock is going up on volume leads me to believe there are people slowly accumulating the stock, and it's probably us "little fish". Even me with almost 100K shares is a little fish because when I re-invest me dividends, that gets me only about 800 shares.

My thesis is there aren't any Big Whales buying Riocan right now, tbh I hate the big whales because they tend to cause a lot of volatility and manipulate stocks, which is why I love owning stocks like NVU (was my favorite before it got taken out) and NWH, because those stocks are too small for institutions to care.
