RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:The ad to ad.un tax treatment ?

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:The ad to ad.un tax treatment ? I got a reply from Alaris about the price to use for the share conversion.  The IR person told me that Alaris does not have a "correct" number.  He said, and this is correct, that the you must be able to defend the number you use, in case of an audit.  He, personally, is using $12.27 per share, which is the last trading price for the old AD shares on Sept 3rd prior to being delisted.  That is an easily defendable number, and it is what I will use as well.  He also gave me a timeline for the events pertaining to the change - the $12.34 number is what the new AD.UN shares opened at on Sept 4th when they started trading.  The $11.93 price is the closing price on August 31st - that evening it was announced that the transaction was approved by the shareholders, and the AD stock opened at $11.95 the next morning, which is the number RBC is using.  However, AD continued to trade until Sept 3rd, so he feels, and I agree, that the $12.27 is the best number to use.
