For months now, a legislator from the province of San Juan, and several of his followers, have unleashed a fierce irrational political campaign, without any environmental basis, against a gold, silver, copper, and zinc exploration project in the hills of El Romero, an area that has been totally deforested, by local and Haitian predators, before the indifferent gaze of the legislator, farmers and some new pseudo-environmentalists, who in practice have never been seen trying to avoid, or reduce , the serious sewage environmental contamination that does not let the residents of the Tenguerengue river breathe, one of the most polluted in San Juan and in the country.

And everything seems to get complicated from social networks, because there are people who do not understand that the Ministry of Energy and Mines is a public entity defined and legally created to comply with mining exploration and exploitation plans and projects, and that for economic reasons it needs foreign investors. , and it is painful to observe how some opposition politicians are against the current government, against the Ministry of Energy and Mines and against the Gold Quest company, because their interest is to delay the EIA approval processes, with false arguments and all the they know.

Each province demands from the Government more schools for education, aqueducts, highways, paved neighborhood roads to transport agricultural products from the countryside to the city, more hospitals to care for people's health, medical equipment, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, channels of irrigation and the long-awaited citizen security, and for these works the State needs the economic resources that come from mining projects, and it is important to emphasize that all the metals and minerals come from that mining that they criticize so much, but they use cars, cell phones, appliances, electricity and live in apartments built with steel rods, blocks, cement and often marble floors, they wear watches, jewelry and medicines, and thus insist on political manipulation against Romero.

The Government is behind in various important issues and public discredit that create uncertainty in society, we already lived it in the past and now we are living it in the present as if the entire society should be subjected to eternal punishment where politicking draws the rules of a dirty, uncontrolled and endless game, which does not help at all, but delays all investment projects and social policy programs, and even delays the knowledge to make these projects viable by society and the community, because in the face of arguments without scientific support it makes it difficult for many people to establish the difference between what is true and what is false, and that is serious.

Therefore, it is not understood that this legislator, who was a first-level official of the governments from 1996-2000 and 2004 to 2012, could not turn San Juan de la Maguana into the long-awaited granary of the south, and today he has to settle for seeing that it is one of the provinces with the greatest poverty in the Dominican Republic, a negative privilege that it shares with the neighboring province of Elas Pia, and today he stands out as a great defender of the province of San Juan.

And their behavior is understandable, because they are politicians accustomed to distributing 400 and 500 pesos in campaigns to win the vote, and they do not want to see the people of the province prosper, because that way they would not have the favor by exchange to obtain a congressional position, and it is a pity to prevent the development of the province, and the prosperity of many people who would benefit from jobs, schools, hospitals, security and a series of programs that can become a reality thanks to economic resources through the exploitation of all the metals that exist in El Romero.


The truth is that we have a country rich in mining with malicious and opportunistic politicians who manage the scenarios at their whim and convenience, and it is a shame to see so many efforts and economic resources destined to create chaos with false arguments to confuse people, and they cause damage to the image of the mining sector, knowing very well that it is one of the sectors that can provide the economic resources to improve and develop that province and benefit all its people.

Manipulacin poltica contra El Romero

Desde hace meses un legislador de la provincia de San Juan, y varios de sus seguidores, han desatado una feroz campaa poltica irracional, sin ninguna base de sustentacin ambiental, en contra de un proyecto de exploracin de oro, plata, cobre y zinc en las lomas de El Romero, una zona que ha sido totalmente deforestada, por depredadores locales y haitianos, ante la mirada indiferente del legislador, de los agricultores y de algunos nuevos seudoambientalistas, que en la prctica nunca han sido vistos tratando de evitar, o de reducir, la grave contaminacin ambiental cloacal que no deja respirar a los vecinos del ro Tenguerengue, uno de los ms contaminados de San Juan y del pas.

Y todo parece complicarse desde las redes sociales, porque hay gente que no entiende que el Ministerio Energa y Minas es una entidad pblica definida y creada legalmente para cumplir con planes y proyectos de exploracin y explotacin minera, y que por asuntos econmicos necesita de inversionistas extranjeros, y es penoso observar como algunos polticos opositores en contra del Gobierno de turno, en contra del Ministerio Energa y Minas y en contra de la empresa Gold Quest, porque su inters es retrasar los procesos de aprobacin del EIA, con argumentos falsos y todos lo saben.

Cada provincia demanda del Gobierno ms escuelas para educacin, acueductos, carreteras, caminos vecinales asfaltados para transportar los productos agrcolas del campo a la ciudad, ms hospitales para atender la salud de la gente, equipos mdicos, equipos agrcolas, equipos para construccin, canales de riego y la tan anhelada seguridad ciudadana, y para esas obras el Estado necesita los recursos econmicos que provienen de los proyectos mineros, y es importante destacar, que todos los metales y minerales provienen de esa minera que ellos tanto critican, pero, usan autos, celulares, electrodomsticos, energa elctrica y viven en apartamentos construidos con varillas de acero, block, cemento y muchas veces pisos de mrmol, usan relojes, joyas y medicinas, y as insisten en la manipulacin poltica contra de Romero.

El Gobierno se encuentra en el atraso en distintos temas importantes y descrdito pblico que crean incertidumbre en la sociedad, ya lo vivimos en el pasado y ahora lo estamos viviendo en el presente como si la sociedad completa debe estar sometida a un castigo eterno donde la politiquera traza las reglas de un juego sucio, descontrolado y sin fin, que no ayuda en nada, pero retrasa todos proyectos de inversin y los programas de poltica social, y hasta retrasa el conocimiento para viabilizar esos proyectos por parte de la sociedad y los comunitarios, porque ante los argumentos sin sustentacin cientfica dificulta que mucha gente pueda establecer la diferencia entre lo que es verdad y lo que es mentira, y eso es grave.

Por lo que, no se entiende que ese legislador que fue funcionario de primer nivel de los gobiernos 1996-2000 y 2004 al 2012, no pudo convertir a San Juan de la Maguana en el tan anhelado granero del sur, y hoy tiene que conformarse con ver que es una de las provincias con mayor pobreza de la Repblica Dominicana, privilegio negativo que comparte con la vecina provincia de Elas Pia, y hoy sale al frente como un gran defensor de la provincia de San Juan.

Y es entendible su comportamiento, porque son polticos acostumbrados a repartir 400 y 500 pesos en campaa para lograr el favor del voto, y no quieren ver a la gente de la provincia prosperar, porque de esa manera no tendran el favor por intercambio para obtener una posicin congresual, y es una lstima impedir el desarrollo de la provincia, y la prosperidad de muchas personas que seran beneficiadas con empleos, escuelas, hospitales, seguridad y una serie programas que pueden hacerse realidad gracias a los recursos econmicos a travs de la explotacin de todos los metales que existen en El Romero.

Lo cierto es que tenemos un pas rico en minera con polticos malintencionados y oportunistas que manejan los escenarios a su antojo y conveniencia, y es una pena ver tantos esfuerzos y recursos econmicos destinados a crear el caos con argumentos falsos para confundir a la gente, y causan un dao de imagen al sector minero sabiendo ellos muy bien que es uno de los sectores que pueden aportar los recursos econmicos para mejorar y desarrollar esa provincia y beneficiar a toda su gente.
