RR Secures Drill Permit for Expansion of Pocitos Project Recharge Resources Ltd. (Ticker: RR.c or RECHF for US investors) is focused on exploring and developing high-value battery metals to meet the growing demand in the electric vehicle and fuel cell vehicle market.
Its Pocitos Lithium Brine Project is an 800-hectare lithium brine project in the Salar de Pocitos, Argentina, part of the lithium-rich Puna region. It has infrastructure support and access to gas, electricity, and transportation.
The project's history involves exploration by various entities, with recent drilling revealing high brine flow rates and lithium values.
Today, RR announced that it has received approval for a drill permit for two additional wells at its Pocitos.
The drill program aims to enhance the project's NI 43-101 Inferred Mineral Resource Estimate of 143,000 tonnes of lithium metal and 760,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent.
The recently announced estimate indicates potential annual revenue of $338 million.
The company plans to upgrade the resource classification, collect data for a direct lithium extraction pilot plant, and gather pre-engineering pumping data.
The project, located near Pocitos township, is paramount to RR's goal of establishing a 20,000-tonne-per-year Ekosolve™ plant for lithium carbonate production.
