RE:RE:TD , like watching a car crash in slow motion

Some valid points for sure, Canadian Banks and VW though are different animals as I see it. I have little doubt TD will recover tis really the timeline I am referring to. Trust in Canadian banks is usally built into the cake with investors both in the ways they operate and for steady streams of operating revenue. Fines ,be they 2-3-4 B , are big but its the overhang of "oversight" placed on thier dealings in the future for one of there large revenue bases , USA  market, Should the need to sell there CS shares to pay fines it will eliminate one source of revenue, should there expansion plans be restricted by SEC it will slow there growth until oversight or restrictions  are removed . They did raise cash through a dilutive share issue for the First Horizon purchase only to have it fail , its the reason for failure that reduces trust . As long as there are viable alternatives ie RY,BMO people will invest in trusted instituions until the smoke clears. If there main source of expansion is the US market and it come under closer scrutinty or restricted its the timeline that is the issue.
