RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Common sense investing - GSI interview We're eerily in that time zone Sept.-October, - the 4-year anniversary run-up in the share price from the low 60’s to the high nineties on the the announcement there were investors interested in taking a position in GSI. That initiative failed to materialize and after hitting 1.30 the share price went into a long decline.
Currently the share price is in the same general area today(.60) and Dyment has pre-released some highly positive info re Q4 and cancelled his podcast with Cameron, his reason being that he would be in discussions with possible investors.
GSI’s fortunes have improved considerably over those 4 years and there are much clearer reasons today for a mutual fund or the like to take a crack at a large position, thereby strengthening the bid under the share price.
One thing I have observed about the micros: when you only have a retail presence in the ownership there’s a lot of churning in the share price. Nobody says they are selling but everyone is selling, -that’s my conclusion. Usually after positive news micros sell off. If Dyment is saying he’s talking with institutional investors he is! I don’t doubt that. But the institutions will only be able to secure their shares by being patient and buying in small amounts on weak days. There are many days like that, -major indexes sell off, miserable political news, whatever.
But even careful nibbling strengthens the price, and they don’t have unlimited time to do it; they have to announce their intentions to buy; but there’s no way they can squeeze in without it showing up in the price.
