Bullboard - Stock Discussion Forum Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints... see more

Peter Thiel

if I am not mistaken, he controls the company. For those sick of slick Vic, etc... Thiel cannot be ignored. This is the best thing to happen to Aphria in a longtime. Novartis and Budweiser are 200 billion dollar companies. This isn't HEXO and Molson...lol. TSX stock will most likely be converted to the NASDAQ and TLRY may grow into a 100 billion dollar company itself. I like the move and look forward to leadership being babysat.

How do I say this respectfully, you and ilvmty5s are complete morons when it comes to APHA and Tilray.  Do the board a favor and stop trolling the board, let people that actually understand post and try to help.  Instead of both you trolls cluttering the board.   The reason for this merger is more than likely for Peter Thiel to get rid of his huge losing Tilray position. Bud, How do you feel about Peter Thiel in general? If Peter Thiel were to double his current investment in Tilray, do you think it would have an influence?

ohhh a short attack on Peter Thiel by hiterburg. That would be nice to watch. Could you imagine picking up 50% cheapies now with AB InBev, Novartis and SweetWater. Get into ma bellie!

Lol I posted this in december about the merger.   Got it bang on.  The MJ sector is just so shady.  Tilray insiders have been dumping ever since the announcement of the deal.  APHA long shareholders are going to be bag holding for a while, unless a bigger sucker comes along.  Don't be long in the MJ sector, make your money get out.  Just so much shady stuff ...more

since someone mentioned Peter....  happened exactly like I said it would.  Front the pump and the Tilray dump to Irwin's payoff, err I mean salary or bonus.  Every Tilray and APHA management was dumping hard after the merger.  I kept warning the board.  How can people not see it.  Anyways take it as a lesson learned.  Last call is done, I am out...    ...more

I have to wonder if he's the $100 m man. He would not have wanted this to come out better while backing TLRY. Negotiations between TLRY and aphria have been ongoing for a year and $100 M investment announced in last Jan. Maybe he was playing a long term game here with TLRY and knowing they needed APHA to be successful.

yeah if Thiel owns 77% of Tilray and Aphria owns 63%. That's 140%. Did Irwin buy Thiels position for $38/sh for $9/sh? Was Thiel going to bail like Buds explained and Irwin saw the opportunity and did the buyout so that someone else wouldn't beat him to it? Why would Thiel bail when things are starting to get good?
