Dividend or Interest

New to AD.UN:

Got my first Dividend payment on the 15th. It showed up as Interest, which in my opinion will be taxed at a higher rate.

From your experiences: Is it treated on your T5 as 

1) Interest  OR 

2) Dividend

would appreciate your thoughts.

Our thoughts? Go to the horses mouth (that has a never ending appitite - Canada Revenue Agency) It depends how much of the payment is interest and how much is dividends for that go to Alaris website. The qtr-ley payment It is a blend of several income streams that also includes capitol gains (returning your own money back to you), interest and divy
