Initial Thoughts

Well, there was a lot to digest in the press release but everything mentioned seemed to make sense to me.

I am happy to get the dividend in my non-taxable accounts.

I think Act 2 is yet to come. What is Summit Coal worth, and what is the plan for the company? 

A single power station won't get anyone too excited. A larger player would be interested. Prairie Lights could be interesting and perhaps they could pull that off by leveraging the Milner cash flow.

Nothing in the announcement changes my view that the options to either (a) grow or (b) sell are still on the table.

Nice to see the stock up today.

The conversion of shares by their two largest shareholders can be interpreted in many ways.  1) We are on the verge of a major liquidity event 2) the interest earned on the Convertible Facility will be far less than what they expect with the potential of a major liquidity event or news of potential sale of Summit Coal 3) Is the special dividend announced on Nov 7 a hint that this may ...more
