@ TELEMARKER - The purchase makes sense.  NXE needs some inventory before it begins knocking on doors to sell Arrow pounds to prospective utilities.   A prospective utility needs to be 100% sure that NXE can deliver uranium before it commits to buying from a start up.  With some inventory on the ground NXE can seek to assure a utility that it won't get stuck and need to ...more

I don't see it as managements role to be commodity traders speculating on the price of uranium. I do though appreciate that in the short to mid term the price should be higher than it is currently.  Agree that having a ready supply as back-up to the start of production will prove useful when entering contracts down the road.  Keep in mind the names of parties involved as that may ...more

It really is a headscratcher. I don't think the news release from NXE does much of a job of explaining the purchase. Therefor people speculate. I see other comments here where people are speculating or musing over why. We should not have to do that. I am looking for clearer language from the CEO. @FredBP  - NXE isn't alone when it comes to purchasing uranium from the market.  DML has purchased uranium from the market during the current bull market as have some other smaller suppliers.  CCO and Kazatomprom make market purchases from time to time to fill holes in their sales book too.   Without holding any uranium, how would NXE bid on an RFP from a utility ...more
