Actually I think you are SOL on this one. There will be no loss allowed in the TFSA. When you take it out, the new non-registered shares will have a cost base of $0.005 or maybe $0.01 and so the stock ...more

I'm no whiz at this but it seems to me that would show a $withdrawal from your TFSA and a deemed purchase in your cash account at today's stock price. Not sure that gains you anything other ...more
