Costly delays

Interesting article that highlights the need for Canada to establish a supply chain quickly. If ELBM is a critical part of that chain it needs to giddyup. https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/north-america-ev-tax-break-column-don-pittis-1.6580997

The most interesting and important part of this article: By combining Canada's auto assembly, parts business, battery making and mining proficiency with the expansion of the country's existing battery materials expertise, the report says Canada is ideally placed to become a global leader, adding an estimated $48 billion a year to the economy and creating hundreds of thousands of jobs ...more

I thought these paragraphs were pretty important too: Canada is the only democratically governed nation in the world that has all of the minerals necessary to support a comprehensive EV supply chain," he said. In a world beset by autocrats and sabre-rattling, that matters Canada has all the right ingredients to be a battery powerhouse," said Evan Pivnick, from Clean Energy Canada, one of ...more

Starkicker, it is astounding the position Canada is in with respect to resources.  We are an absolute natural resource powerhouse leader in the world when you add up the different sectors.  Yet we have become a nation of lazy woke fools that believe Justin and his government will lead us in a world class positive direction.  Regulate, control, posture and pander.  In fact that& ...more

Agreed Silverado. We've put ourselves in a position where we have to consult with every last person within 100 miles of a project to get consent to move forward. That and lazy suits who are complacent  because they get paid whether they get results or not. So much for urgency. Meanwhile, we lose our advantge. Same old Canadian investment story.

Well put Silver.  I don't really believe in your change of government thing needing to happen first, especially south of the border, but the rest of it, no matter the pile, is the smae sh1t to me for every "party".

All nonsense and speculation.  I have little confidence in the current provincial and federal governments coordinating this.  Silverado's comment rings loud to me here.
