Who is plume?!

What is it with the fascination that people have with Plume? 

These two companies by all accounts are in an entirely different universe technology wise. Apples and Oranges.

This is a tremendous example of how narrow your thinking is. Both companies are in the business of providing wifi. How they propose to do it differs technically but that's irrelevant. All that matters is who does it better. Clearly Plume has that title. They solved the issues around density and coverage by building a more robust system using available product. Never mind the simplistic thinking that comes with comparing software and semiconductors as if they’re interchangeable. Sure, software can be written to solve a problem quickly adjusting, tweaking, and iterating on the fly. It’s flexible and agile, designed to evolve with minimal physical constraint. But building a semiconductor to solve a similar problem? That’s an entirely different beast ...more

Yes there are multiple approaches to solving any problem. Plume solved the issue of bad home wifi by building a mesh platform. Yfi has done nothing and the home space is now dominated by the first to market with a solution provider.  I guess I could build a new form of transportation to get to the grocery store but why bother when I already have a car.

Why are you asking?  Did Edgewater get a new  global corporate headquarters and they need reliable  wifi with more favourable terms?
