Top Bullboards post: 44Dave44 advised others on the Canacol Energy (TSX: V.CNE, Stock Forum) Bullboard: “Well now, that is just plain silly. The number of shares outstanding has no impact on the value of the company. Look at the market cap. of the company when investing, if the assets and potential growth are higher than the market cap., it is likely a buy. In this case CNE has a market cap. of $150 million, peanuts compared to GTE another Columbia company I bought when it was cheap like CNE. The market cap. divided by the number of shares outstanding gives the price. Had the number of shares been lower, of course the price would be higher and move fast on a small discovery, but, you also would have had to pay more for the shares in the first place. CNE has what is shaping up to be a good discovery and if you give a value of $50 million per 1000 BOE/day, then the current hole plus other assets easily equals the current market cap. with lots of upside based on future holes. Patience is all that is needed. Personally, I like the fact that the stock did not spike up, it is allowing me to buy more shares cheap, and I will hold them for the follow up drilling. These two new producing locations in the hole could be mighty big, even with only a 25% interest.”
