Stockhouse Canadian Small and Micro-cap Stock Report for Wednesday, August 28, 2013 VANCOUVER (SHfn) –

Ashburton Ventures. (TSX: V.ABR, Stock Forum) was up 7.7% to seven cents on Wednesday. The stock is reacting to news the junior exploration company had completed phase one of an exploration at its 100%-owned Sienna West claims, located roughly 40 kilometers southwest of the Alpha Minerals Inc. (TSX: V.AMW, Stock Forum) and Fission Uranium Corp. (TSX: V.FCU, Stock Forum) Patterson Lake South discovery. Numerous boulders encountered during the program measured well over 200 counts per second (cps) with some from 1,500 to 1,800 cps as measured on a hand-held radiation detector. The program also included the placement of 40 radon detector cups that will be retrieved for radon analysis in thirty days.

Energizer Resources Inc. (TSX: T.EGZ, Stock Forum) climbed 20.6% to 20.5 cents as investors assessed the news that the mineral exploration and development company’s shares will begin trading on the OTC Markets Group's highest and most prestigious marketplace, the OTCQX. Companies that qualify for OTCQX must meet the highest financial standards, provide ongoing disclosures and be sponsored by a professional third-party Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) member bank or securities attorney. The company's symbol remains ENZR.

SGX Resources Inc. (TSX: V.SXR, Stock Forum) lost 4.2% to 11.5 cents after the gold exploration company reported that step-out drilling has successfully extended the Tully deposit, located within the Tully Township, immediately to the north of Timmins, Ontario, eastward by more than 100 metres and to depth by more than 250 metres from the limits of previous drilling. Strike extensions of the zone continue to be realized at the easternmost known extent of the deposit with drill hole SGX-13-20 cutting 6.7 metres of 9.0 grams per tonne gold more than 200 metres below surface.

Brixton Metals Corp. (TSX: V.BBB, Stock Forum) lost 26.1% to 8.5 cents after the mineral exploration company announced drill results from its phase one exploration program at its Thorn project, located within the Sutlahine River area of northwest British Columbia. Brixton completed 28 drill holes for a total of 4,617 metres of NQ sized core diamond drilling within and near the Oban diatreme-breccia zone. Drilling highlights included hole HN13-89, which returned 1.00 metre of 1,060.00 grams per tonne silver within 4.0 metres of 415.50 grams per tonne silver within a broader interval of 113.50 metres of 58.65 grams per tonne silver from 38.20 metres depth.
