Stockhouse Canadian Small and Micro-cap Stock Report for Friday, January 14, 2011

TORONTO (SHfn) – PMI Gold (TSX: V.PMV, Stock Forum) shares climbed 13% to 68 cents on Friday after the micro cap miner reported results from recent resource in-fill and extension drilling at its Obotan Gold Project in Ghana, West Africa, which included 218.2 metres of 1.83 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.

As well, shares of Azure Dynamics (TSX: T.AZD, Stock Forum) added 19% at 38.5 cents following a Wall Street Journal report that the electric- and hybrid-vehicle maker said it has received an order for 600 hybrid-electric delivery vans from Purolator Courier Ltd., the Canadian logistics and delivery company.

BELLUS Health (TSX: T.BLU, Stock Forum), meanwhile, said it exercised its right to terminate the lease of its Laval, Quebec premises as of April 7, 2011, which will result in annual savings of approximately $4.5 million for the company. BELLUS stock popped 12% to 29 cents.

Shares of GWR Resources (TSX: V.GWQ, Stock Forum) jumped 15% to 26.5 cents after the junior explorer reported assay results from six additional holes testing the flat-lying Spout Lake South Skarn Zone in British Columbia. The first five holes into this feature have been reported, generally defining a core as multiple subhorizontal zones, grading 0.3 to 0.4 % copper over six to 16 metres true thicknesses, from the bedrock surface downwards, with several two metres intervals >1% copper, and up to 3.85% copper.

And, Wi-LAN Inc. (TSX: T.WIN, Stock Forum) Friday announced that it and Intel Corporation have signed a memorandum of understanding which calls for Intel to take a multi-year license to WiLAN's patent portfolio and to make a series of payments to WiLAN. The agreement will include the dismissal of all litigations between the companies in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas and in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. WiLAN expects a final definitive agreement to be signed within the next few weeks. Wi-LAN shares rose 11% to $6.93.
