Colorado Resources plummets 32% on drill results: Canadian market movers

On Tuesday, the top TSX mover was Bombardier Inc. (TSX: T.BBD.B, Stock Forum). The stock gained 1.4% and was trading at $4.93 on volume of 2.8 million.

Today, the transportation equipment manufacturer announced the delivery of the first of 20 Q400 NextGen turboprop airliners ordered by WestJet Airlines Ltd. (TSX: T.WJA, Stock Forum). The aircraft will be operated by the new regional carrier, WestJet Encore and will serve multiple destinations, beginning in Western Canada in its first year of service. WestJet also holds options for 25 additional Q400 NextGen aircraft.

Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX: T.K, Stock Forum) was the second most active stock on the TSX. It lost 0.4% and was trading at $6.72 on volume of 2.7 million shares.

The gold production company had no related news to explain the high volume in trading.

Colorado Resources Ltd. (TSX: V.CXO, Stock Forum) was the volume leader on the TSX Venture Exchange. It fell 31.7% and was trading at $0.84 on volume of 7.7 million.

Today, the mineral exploration company reported results from three drill holes and from surface geological, geochemical and geophysical surveys recently completed on its 100% owned North ROK property located in northwest British Columbia. Highlights from the recently completed drill program included 131.0 metres grading 0.56% copper and 0.68 grams per tonne gold.

The second most active stock on the TSX Venture was Pinecrest Energy Inc. (TSX: V.PRY, Stock Forum). It rose 4.7% and was trading at $0.67 after 3.7 million shares changed hands.

On June 5, the exploration, development, and production of petroleum and natural gas company announced that it intends to commence a normal course issuer bid to purchase, from time to time, as it considers advisable, up to 19.6 million common shares on the open market through the facilities of the TSXV.
