Pine Cliff Energy (V.PNE) active on Q3 results: Canadian market movers

Here are the most active stocks on Wednesday mid-morning on the TSX and TSX Venture Exchange.

On Wednesday, the top TSX mover was Air Canada (TSX: T.AC.B, Stock Forum). The stock was down 0.14% and was trading at $6.89 on volume of 2.9 million.

On November 8, Air Canada reported record third quarter results, including an adjusted net income of $365 million versus adjusted net income of $229 million in the third quarter of 2012, an improvement of 59.4%.

Lundin Mining Corp. (TSX: T.LUN, Stock Forum) was the second most active stock on the TSX. It slipped 3.3% and was trading at $4.43 on volume of 2.7 million shares.

On October 30, the base metals mining company reported net earnings of $27.9 million ($0.05 per share) for the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2013. Cash flows of $27.4 million were generated from operations, not including the company's attributable cash flows of $42.2 million from Tenke Fungurume, a copper-cobalt project in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Kombat Copper Inc. (TSX: V.KBT, Stock Forum) was the volume leader on the TSX Venture Exchange. It fell 15% and was trading at $0.085 on volume of 4.6 million.

On November 5, the exploration and development company appointed F. W. (Bill) Nielsen as President and CEO for the company. Nielsen is an accredited geologist with over 35 years of worldwide mineral exploration and development experience.

The second most active stock on the TSX Venture was Pine Cliff Energy Ltd. (TSX: V.PNE, Stock Forum). It rose 3.7% and was trading at $1.13 after 3.1 million shares changed hands.

On November 12, the oil and gas junior announced its third quarter financial and operating results ended Sept. 30, 2013. During the quarter the company achieved record oil and gas sales volumes of 5,784 barrels per day, a 546% increase over the same period in 2012, as a result of acquisitions in Southern Alberta and Southern Saskatchewan. As well Pine Cliff generated quarterly funds flow from operations of $3.0 million, an increase of 582% when compared to the third quarter of 2012, despite having extremely low natural gas prices.
