American Manganese Inc. (TSX: V.AMY, OTCQB: AMYZF, Forum) has approved the “Reagent Optimization and Locked Cycle Scoping Study” proposal from Kemetco Research Inc. The testing program is scheduled to begin by mid-October 2016.

Under the current research program, the Company has conducted scoping studies as a proof of concept to show that a populare cathode material, lithium cobalt dioxide, could be leached and that the leached cobalt and lithium could then be precipitated for reconstituting the cathode materials.

Kemetco has prepared a graduated program for the technological development of this process. The goal is to develop a flowsheet to maximize the recovery of valuable cathode materials. Further information can be found here.

American Manganese was recently in the news when the Company announced a clarification of its Phase 2 testing program.

The Company has 114 million shares outstanding, and a market cap of $12.6 million.
