American Manganese Inc. (

Forum) said Thursday it has successfully completed the recycling of 100% of the cathode materials and 92% of the lithium from its US Patent Pending recycling application.
The company also said it has produced rechargeable lithium ion cobalt and lithium manganese button cell batteries from its recycled cathode material.
Meanwhile, management has been studying ways to capitalize on the company’s technologies, working towards positive cash flow.

American Manganese was in the news recently when the company said Kemetco Research Inc. has successfully produced cathode material and working coin cell rechargeable NMC batteries using recycled lithium, nickel, manganese and cobalt from AMI’s patent pending lithium ion battery cathode material recycling process.
“Based on these preliminary results, it can be speculated that the American Manganese upcycling technology represents the world’s first NMC Battery produced from AMI’s closed loop recycling process,’’ said Norm Chow, President of Kemetco.
